The variety of color and design in Jasper stones make them a natural when creating pendants. This soft-toned, tan, amber and peach colored bead is complemented by three simple rose gold seed beads anchored into the design. Twisted silver wire adds to the beauty of the pendant combined with the wrapping of regular round wire. Choose a larger bead than mine if you like. The instructions allow for that by guiding you to calculate the right length of wire for any size bead.  Set aside a couple of hours to create this unique pendant.

Directions

step 1 - Cut and Shape the Twisted Wire - Loosely wrap a thin strip of paper around the outside of your stone. Place marks on the paper where the ends meet. Measure the length.

step 2 - Add 1.50" to that number for the loop at the top of the pendant.

step 2 - Add 1.50" to that number for the loop at the top of the pendant.

step 3 - Measure the vertical length of the stone and add .75". Combine this number to the total in step 2.

step 3 - Measure the vertical length of the stone and add .75". Combine this number to the total in step 2.

step 4 - Measure from the top center of the stone to three fourths of the way around it (green). Add another .50" for the curl and combine that number with the total in step 3. Cut the twisted wire to that measurement.

step 5 - Insert the wire into the stone leaving a .75" tail at the bottom.

step 6 - Create a 90-degree bend toward the left.

step 7 - Place a Sharpie or other round object in the bend and wrap the wire around it to create a loop.

step 8 - Wrap the wire around the shape of the stone ending at the loop.

step 8 - Wrap the wire around the shape of the stone ending at the loop.

step 9 - Curve the remaining length of wire to follow inside the first wire keeping a slight space between them. Curl the wire end on the right about half way down the pendant.

step 10 - Wrapping - Cut 24-gauge wire to approximately 20" depending on the size of your pendant. Insert the wire at the top center and wrap the base of the loop and the two twisted wires two or three times. Continue wrapping approximately 11 times.

step 11 - Add a bead to the wire and wrap twice. Continue wrapping only the outside twisted wire three quarters of the way down the pendant.

step 12 - Wrap through both twisted wires. Add a bead and wrap twice.

step 13 - Continue wrapping only the outside wire all the way to the base of the curl.

step 13 - Continue wrapping only the outside wire all the way to the base of the curl.

step 14 - Wrap around both wires twice, add a bead and finish with two wraps around both wires. Trim off excess wire.

step 15 - Bring the tail to the front of the wires and insert it through them to the back of the pendant snugly wrapping the wires. Trim off excess.
