Tahiti Knockoff Necklace

Although Tahiti is famous for their black pearls, a stroll through their high-end jewelry stores reveals collections of beautiful gemstones that reflect the blues and greens of the island’s waters.  I found the blue stones for my necklace at Joanns.  Together they almost perfectly resemble a necklace I saw in a Papeete store window that cost thousands of dollars.  This project is simple to assemble and costs less than $20.

step 6 - In order for the necklace to hang evenly, one strand must be slightly shorter than the other. An easy way to determine where to attach the clasp is to hook safety pins through the chain. Try the necklace on and keep moving the safety pin until one set of strands hangs lower than the other to curve evenly at the neck.

step 7 - When the fit is correct, attach a clasp to the link and remove the safety.  On the other strand, replace the safety pin with a large jump ring.
