Show your American Spirit! A little paint, a few rhinestones, a shirt, and you’re ready for the July 4th holiday. This is the perfect last minute project you can paint on any shirt you own. It’s easy to do and easy on the budget!

Directions

BEFORE PAINTING, ALWAYS WASH AND DRY FABRIC (WITHOUT FABRIC SOFTENER). DURING PAINTING, COVER EXPOSED FABRIC TO PREVENT ACCIDENTAL OVER SPRAY. ALLOW PAINT TO DRY BETWEEN STEPS.

step 1 - Download and print out the stencil on card stock.  Cut out the grey areas using a craft knife.  As an option, you can use a shaped punch to cut out the stars.  I used both a small and large punch.

step 6 - Leave the stars in tact and peel away the other grey areas.  Cover the entire star section so that red paint doesn’t accidentally get between the replaced star edges.

step 7 - Protect all areas that will not be painted red.  Air brush red paint on open areas.

step 8 - When the red paint is dry, cover all but the star section.  Remove the star pieces and paint the blue stars.

step 9 - Follow the directions on the paint container for drying and heat setting the paint.

step 10 - Using an iron, adhere hot-fix red rhinestones to the heart outline, centering the stones on the line.
