The Pieces

The Pieces

While my creation is a bracelet, you can easily turn this project into a statement necklace by using longer pieces of chain. Three different styles and weights of chain are combined with sections of pearls and decorative ball beads. It’s not necessary to find the exact pieces I used, just duplicate the type of metal and size strands to achieve the same effect.

Directions

step 1 - Cut off the head of the headpin wire and create a loop. Slip on a pearl, a ball bead and another pearl. Make another loop. You will need seven of these sections.

step 1 - Cut off the head of the headpin wire and create a loop. Slip on a pearl, a ball bead and another pearl. Make another loop. You will need seven of these sections.

step 2 - Create two strands mixing the pearl sections with the shiny silver chain links.  The first strand is smaller than the second so that the bead sections are staggered and not directly above one another. Connect each as follows by opening and closing the silver links.

step 3 - Strand One - Connect two silver links, add a bead section, add one silver link, add a bead section, add a silver link, add a bead section, and add two more links.

step 4 - Strand Two - Connect one silver link to a bead section, add three more links separated by bead sections.  Finish the strand with one more silver link.

step 5 - Connect the last links of strand one and two to each other.  Connect a 5mm jump ring on one end and attach the round toggle clasp piece.  Attach two (or more) 5mm jump rings on the other end and attach the bar end of the toggle clasp.

step 6 - Cut a length of ornate chain to match the length of the bracelet.  Position the chain between strand one and two.  Open the end links and connect them to the silver link connected to the toggle clasp.

step 7 - Cut a length of the large heavy chain to match the other strands in size.  Position this chain outside strand one or two. Open the end links and connect them to the silver links connected to the toggle clasp.
