Lighted Butterflies Lamp

step 1 -  Download the two template pages and tape them together.

Transparent butterflies swirl around green vines while light shines through their colorful wings in this lamp project.  The cone shape lampshade contains a battery powered light string and the battery pack.  The free downloadable butterfly images are printed on Craft Attitude film and attached to clear, sturdy, plastic binding covers so all you see is the bright wings.  Indoors or out, this is a pretty way to light your space and a must-do project for anyone who loves butterflies.

Directions

step 1 - Download and print out the lamp shade and the butterfly page on the glossy side of Scrapbooking Attitude film.

step 2 - Peel back a corner of the film backing and cut it off.  This will make separating the backing from the film easy once glue is applied.

step 3 - Apply glue to the butterflies working on one at a time.  Hold the glue stick flat against the printed image with light pressure.  Work ina circular motion.  Pressing down too hard on the glue stick will leave streaks of glue and lumps in what should be smooth wings.

step 6 - Add glue to the lampshade printout just as you did the butterflies.  With the glue side down, lay the printout on the stencil blank.

step 7 - Notice the black crop marks on one edge.  Align a ruler against the marks and cut along it with a craft knife.  This edge includes the .25” margin for overlap when the lamp shade is formed.  Cut inside the other black lines of the shade.
