Silhouette Zippered Leatherette Pouch

lead.jpg

Can we ever have enough little organizers for all our "stuff"? This 7" x 5" zippered pouch could double as a makeup bag, jewelry bag, or a small travel bag to hold all those incidental items you need on a trip. The black front leatherette panel is lined with pearly champagne colored leatherette. Both colors are included in one package and ready to purchase at the Silhouette Store online. My custom intricate design is available for free download (for personal use only) and included with the pdf for craft knife users, and in the cut file for Silhouette machine crafters. You'll find both at the top of this page.

The instructions below are designated for Silhouette Cameo (SC) users and craft knife (CK) users. Instructions without initials apply to both crafters. After step 6, all instructions apply to all crafters.

While the project was completed on the Cameo, it can be cut on a Curio with the large tray and a 8.50" x 12" mat.

step 7 - Apply glue to the wrong side of the large black panel. (Elmers is shown here but it didn't hold well enough so I switched to E6000). Avoid the top .50" which will be the zippered edge. It's not necessary to cover the entire surface with glue, just enough to hold the two panels together. Set the glued side on top of the right side of the champagne panel and place a heavy book on it. Allow the glue to set. Fold and glue the double hearts together.

step 9 - Cut the thin black strip into two 1" wide pieces which will act as zipper stops. Place one piece across the top of the zipper, between the two panels, .50" from the panel's side edge. Do the same at the bottom of the zipper. Use clips or tape to hold the pieces together.
