Foiled And Embossed Easter Card
Colorful Pastel flowers set the stage for Spring on this handmade Easter card. Foil letters announce the season while embossed bunnies frame the message. I created the embossed texture for this card with the Silhouette Curio machine. The Curio is capable of a long list of tasks. For this project it adds dimension with embossing. You don't have to have a specialty machine to make this project. Each element is possible with the instructions I've included. Download the pdf for the templates and instructions. Look to the bottom of this page for Curio instructions.
step 5 - Slip the two layers between the provided parchment paper. Bond them with a dry iron on a medium setting for 30 seconds. When cool, remove the parchment. Place the unprinted side of the copy paper against the paper side of the hot melt. Clip the two together and use a craft knife to cut the word into the adhesive sheet. Remove the printed paper and the Hot Melt paper cover to reveal the adhesive.
Silhouette Curio Embossing
Set the printed card stock on the cutting mat with the printed edge at the top. Drag the bunnies and double frame onto your Curio window one inch from the side and top edges. Once positioned, select them. The following machine settings were used on 65 lb. card stock with the Silhouette Score and Emboss material selected and a premium blade (3X) installed:
Score & Emboss
Tool 2 fine tip
Apply Score & Emboss Lines
Cut Settings Window
Tool 1 & 2 - Score & Emboss Paper, Platform 5, Speed 5
Tool 1 Ratchet Blade Setting 2, Thickness 2
Tool 2 Emboss Tool Fine, Thickness 33
These setting will produce a very good result but keep in mind if you’re looking for more definition, you can send the job through a second time.
