Cheers! Wine Box
Invited to dinner? Start a new tradition of bringing a bottle of wine and packing it in your own, personally designed wine box. Blank boxes are available and ready to paint at most craft stores. I liked the idea of working with the natural color of the box and made my color choices based on that. I left the cover unpainted to blend with the unpainted areas of the rest of the container peeking through the design. I also replaced the plain cord that came with the box, with a black leather cord that looks rich but costs little. A decorative gold and black button on sheer, black ribbon add to the elements that make this wine box a special gift to present to a dinner host.
COVER EXPOSED AREAS TO PREVENT ACCIDENTAL OVER SPRAY. ALLOW PAINT TO DRY BETWEEN STEPS.
step 2 - Remove the handle that came with the wine box.
step 3 - Remove the box lid and set aside. Wrap the fabric around the wine box, pressing firmly so that it adheres to the surface. Cut the fabric so that the long ends don’t overlap.
step 5 - Download and print out the “Cheers” stencil on card stock. Using a craft knife cut out the stencil letters. Spray the back of the card stock with adhesive.
