Caribbean Dream Drop Earrings

It only takes 6 Caribbean blue opal crystal beads to make these earrings sparkle and simple jump rings to bring it all together.  If you don’t know the simple but proper technique for opening and closing jump rings, review "Rings" in Jewelry Making Techniques and Tools before beginning this project.  

 

Directions

step 1 - Section One Slide 6 small closed rings onto two large rings.

step 2 - Slip two more large rings through three of the six smaller rings in the previous step and add three more small rings before closing the large rings.

step 3 - Add one small ring to connect the three small rings added in the previous step and three new small rings.

step 5 - To complete Section One, add a bead section to the two small rings in the previous step.  Thread a silver bead and a blue bead onto a headpin wire. step 6 - Section Two Begin this section by putting two large rings into three small rings from section one.  Add three more small rings before closing the large rings.

step 8 - Turn the work over.  Slip one large ring through the four small inside rings (shown in red).  Spacing and size are exaggerated here for better viewing.

step 9 - Turn the work to the right side.  Add five small rings (shown in red) connecting the two large rings of section one and two.  Also add two small rings (shown in red) to the bottom of the large center ring.  Add a bead section to the two small rings.  To complete, add an earring wire to the top large ring.
