Brazen Blue Ice Pendant

measures 2" long

Sparkling silver lined and metallic blue crystal seed beads surround this stunning hexagonal shaped stone.  Faceted, blue glass mimics the kind of jewels found in royal collections.  Bold and unapologetic, this piece commands a lingering look... and possibly a second. While it may have the appearance of fine jewelry you will never be able to afford, you can make it without even having to sacrifice your favorite fancy coffees!

Directions

step 1 - Place a 3” length of 18 gauge silver wire into the center hole of the blue faceted bead. With round nose pliers, create a small loop (as small as possible) on one end.  Bend the other end into a 90 degree angle.

step 9 - Slip on another set of three seed beads;  this time a silver, a blue and a silver.  Throughout this project you will alternate the bead sets.

step 10 - Continue working your way around the wire frame wrapping seed beads following steps 8 & 9.  When you reach the top loop, wrap the wire around the loop twice.  Leave a tiny stem and cut off the rest.  Curl the stem to avoid a sharp edge sticking out of the work.  Push the sharp edge into the beads.

TIP

As you add seed beads to the frame and pull on the wire, the frame may lose it’s shape and slip off the faceted bead. Don’t worry about this.  When you’re finished you can slip the beaded frame back into position.
