SILVER SLIDER NECKLACE

DIRECTIONS

Finished necklace measures 15.5””

Bead and Star Section

  1. 1. Cut 7 pieces of wire 1 3/4” long.

  2. 2. Create each section by forming a loop/eye on one end of the wire.

  3. 3. String on one star, one bead, and another star.  Create another loop to finish the section.

Silver Bead Section

  1. 1. Cut 8 pieces of wire 2 1/2”” long.

  2. 2. Create each section by forming a loop on one end of the wire.

  3. 3. String on one silver bullet bead.  Create another loop to finish the section.  But before closing it completely, slip the loop through the loop on the end of a Bead and Star Section. Then close.

  4. 4. Continue connecting sections, alternating between the Bead and Star and the Silver Bead sections.  When you have 15 linked sections, attach a jump ring to the loop on each end and connect that to a toggle or other style clasp.

While jewelry is worn to make a statement and accent our fashions, the statement doesn’t always have to be big, bold, or flashy.  Sometimes a simple, subdued piece is all you want to add that little something that’s missing.  The Silver Slider necklace with its silver bullet beads that freely slide across wire pieces, tiny stars, and flat, pale olive beads combine to create the perfect answer.  But simplicity doesn’t stop at the design, this piece is also simple and quick to put together by linking two style sections and repeating.  See our Jewelry Making Techniques and Tools page (scroll down) if you’re unfamiliar with making loops in wire.  It’s all the jewelry making you really need to know to complete this project.

“I saw your beautiful necklace on your website and I decided to try it.  I went and bought the most pretty beads. They are not like yours but that is the point in making something original.  It cost me around $15 to make since I bought them on sale.  I wore it to work and my friends loved it.

Thanks again Diva”
