MAT A PHOTO USING YOUR COMPUTER

  1. 1.Bring a photo into Photoshop on a blank page that is three inches larger all around than your image.

  2. 2.Create a layer for the mat and fill it with a color you’ve chosen from the photo.

  3. 3.In another layer, create a white box, 1/8” larger than the photo.

  4. 4.Arrange the 3 layers with the photo on top, the white box underneath, then the mat on the bottom.

  5. 5.To create dimension, stroke the photo and mat.  Here are some suggestions:

  6. 6.For the photo use a 4 pixel, black, outside stroke at 75% opacity.

  7. 7.For the white layer, use a 4 pixel, black inside stroke at 55% opacity.

  8. 8. Complete the effect with an inner shadow from the Layer Style menu.

  9. 9. Print out your creation!

    Requires Photoshop or similar program.
