12”X18” POSTERS
FEATURING YOUR FRIENDS
No, that’s not Renee Zellweger’s face on the Chicago poster! You and photoshop can make anyone a star. Here’s how.
1.Purchase and download a poster image from a famous play or movie onto your computer. Be sure it’s an acceptable resolution for final printing. These are copyrighted images and you cannot sell them, but you can use them to create a gift for a friend.
2.Bring the image into Photoshop. In another layer, import a photo of your friend. The position of the face in that photo should match the face on the poster as closely as possible.
3.For placement and sizing, lower the opacity of your imported face until you can see the poster image underneath. Move your photo face on top of the poster face and adjust the size.
4.Alter saturation, brightness & contrast, and any other image adjustment that will help to duplicate the look on the face in the poster.
5.Zoom in and work with the lasso tool with feathering set to “1”. Surround and delete parts of the photo image until the face perfectly fits the poster.
6.Bring the opacity back to 100% and save the image as a .jpg, resizing it to 12”X18”.
7. Send the poster .jpg to Costco for printing. Their 12”x18” posters only cost $2.99 each!
Requires Photoshop or similar program.
