HOLIDAY SHIRTS TO WEAR AND TO GIVE
HOLIDAY SHIRTS TO WEAR AND TO GIVE
What could be more fun to make? A t-shirt with a Santa hat as its logo? A shirt with a line of Christmas trees in gold? Or a holiday snow fall? Choose one .pdf download, print out the stencils, and get to work. Each stencil includes complete instructions.
Santa Hat Shirt
This is a small image (2.5”x2.5”) meant for placement on the left upper breast area.
1.Download the stencil and print it on card stock.
2.Cut out the dark shape with a craft knife or scissors.
3.Tape the stencil to the shirt so it doesn’t more around. Place a cardboard or hard surface under the area to be painted.
4.Paint the solid red area.
5.Accent the fold areas using red paint mixed with a little black to darken it.
6.Use a thin brush to apply the red and glitter paint to the fuzzy edges of the fur.
TIP
If you would like this image in a larger version centered on a shirt, just print out the stencil .pdf at 200% or whatever size you wish. Then follow the printed instructions as for the smaller image.
Golden Trees
1.Download the stencil and print it on card stock.
2.Cut out the dark areas using a craft knife or scissors.
3.Mark the horizontal and vertical center of the shirt with masking/painter’s tape. Match your lines to the lines on the stencil to center it on the shirt.
4.Spray the back side of the stencil with repositionable stencil adhesive.
5.Place a cardboard or hard surface under the area to be painted.
6.Dab gold paint on the trees and the line connecting them. When dry remove the stencil. Follow directions on the container for setting the paint if applicable.
7.When the paint is set, use fabric glue to attach rhinestones. Attach small stones to smaller areas, increasing them in size to match the increasing line size.
The Holiday Snowfall
1.Download the stencil and print it out on card stock.
2.Cut out the dark areas using a craft knife or scissors.
3.Mark the horizontal and vertical center of the shirt with masking/painter’s tape. Match your lines to the lines on the stencil to center it on the shirt.
4.Spray the back side of the stencil with repositionable stencil spray and attach it to the shirt.
5.Place a cardboard or hard surface under the area to be painted.
6.Apply the puff paint according to instructions on the container. Also, follow instructions for puffing the paint with an iron once it has dried.
7.Pour a puddle of glue in a shallow container. Wet one side of each pearl and place it on the shirt in random patterns to represent the snow. Tweezers will help you to handle the pearls.
8.Wet the back side of a large rhinestone with glue and place it at the top of the tree. Allow the glue to dry overnight.
